Note: AMSCOPE microscopes controller Optiplex 380 machines have been deprecated and they connect the Olympus+AmScope directly to the AIOs. Will touch base with lab managers and faculty to see if we can remove the older towers.

Scope:

The Hughes Laboratory is used as instruction space for two (2) classes at the Center for Neural Science (CNS).  The fall semester course is: "Cellular & Molecular Neurobiology (CMN)", and the winter semester course is: "Behavioral & Integrative Neural Science ("BINS").

Technology:

* Three (3) microscope cameras capture stained slides for analysis.

The cameras have the following specifications:

1080p 15fps 2MP HDMI Color CMOS C-mount Microscope Camera

Monitor for Stand-alone and PC Imaging

SKU: HD1080A-HDM

These cameras interface with AMScope ISCapture software running on the connected Dell Optiplex 380s (Windows 10).

* There are three (3) PCs :

Microscope Camera Capture:

The AM Scope camera, along with an attached tablet, is affixed to an Olympus CX41 microscope. The scope, the camera, and the tablet require power; they also need to be independently powered on.

If you receive a "No camera found" message, you probably didn't power the camera on.

In addition, the camera connects to the PC via USB, while the tablet connects to the PC via HDMI. Data is written to an SD card, but may also be written to the PC.

Speaker Presentation:

The AMScope Camera and microscope are set to project to the two (2) Samsung Monitors (HDMI input 1) in the lab, as well as the AMScope tablet, and, optionally, a secondary monitor:

The ISCapture software runs off of the PC. The PC presents, via a DVI splitter, to the auxiliary Dell monitor (1), and an HDMI splitter (2):

The HDMI splitter then sends the signal to the TVs (1) and the AMScope tablet (2).

Presenters may also connect directly to the TVs via HDMI cable.
