If connecting from off campus, first connect through NYU VPN.
- Open Finder
- On the top menu, select Go, then Connect to Server... on the drop-down menu
- In the box for Server Address, in most cases you will want to specify the specific share address as follows:
smb://[server]/[sharename]
however, some servers may be able to map with just the server name as smb://[server] and then present a list of shares.
where [server] is the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server hosting the file shares and [sharename] is the name of your file share. - A window will appear asking for credentials, enter ad\[netID] where [netID] is your NYU NetID, and your NYU password for the password
- A new window will appear with a list of available shares, select the share you would like to mount and click connect.
