Network Attached Storage (NAS)

The NYU Psych/CNS Technology services team works exclusively with Synology Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. They are reliable and scalable, with a variety of options to meet the needs of your research lab.  The higher-end units can even be used to virtualize certain software components that can be used by your lab. See the Synology page for more about their built in applications.

Hard Disks

Seagate makes IronWolf 7200 rpm SATA III hard drives in 6TB,  8TB. 10TB, 12TB, 14TB sizes. When used within a Synology NAS your data is redundantly stored across 3 or more disks to prevent data loss from single disk failure.
